French cultivated meat company Parima, the parent of Gourmey and Vital Meat, has received regulatory approval in Singapore to sell its cultivated duck. This marks its second such clearance in Singapore within six months, following approval for its cultivated chicken, making Parima the first company to gain regulatory green light for two cultivated animal species. Parima intends to launch its cultivated duck through high-end gastronomy channels in Singapore. The company produces its cultivated meat using efficient cell lines in industrial bioreactors, without genetic engineering or scaffolding, aiming for low production costs. With seven active regulatory filings globally, including in the EU and UK, Parima is pursuing a worldwide commercialization strategy. This approval supports Singapore’s efforts to advance its novel food sector.
