Bon Vivant has achieved self-affirmed GRAS status in the US for its precision-fermented Beta-Lactoglobulin (BLG) whey protein. This milestone enables the company to enter the US market and expand collaborations. The protein offers significant environmental benefits compared to conventional dairy, reducing emissions, water use, and land use. Bon Vivant is the first to offer BLG in two forms for tailored functionality. The GRAS status applies to hybrid and animal-free dairy products. The company has notified the FDA and expects a “No Questions Letter” by end of 2025, positioning it to meet growing demand for sustainable dairy proteins.
