Plant-based seafood company Happy Ocean Foods has announced it will discontinue its Happy Tyuna and Happy Shrymp products to focus on a new line of “Clean Protein Systems” for the foodservice industry. Founder Julian Hallet stated this shift is a “logical continuation” of the company’s mission to provide functional, high-protein, clean-label, and allergen-free solutions for professional kitchens, moving away from direct imitations of seafood. The new product line includes Clean Protein Ocean Touch Flakes (natural and lemon-herb flavors, made from pea protein and rice flour) and Clean Protein Umami Touch Cubes (spicy and Mediterranean flavors, made with pea and fava bean protein), designed as versatile ingredients for restaurant menus. This strategic change was driven by feedback from sales partners who identified a demand for flexible protein solutions in the culinary sector.
