A recent independent analysis by bioprocess engineering firm Eridia has confirmed that Aleph Farms’ cultivated whole-cut beef, Aleph Cuts, can be scaled profitably today without relying on unproven technologies. The study, which used a realistic production scale with 5,000-liter bioreactors, found that Aleph Farms’ petit steak can be produced for as low as $6.45 per pound and sold for $12.25 per pound, resulting in a 47% gross margin and an estimated annual net profit of $78.5 million. This financial viability is achieved even with a non-modified cell strategy, and the analysis shows profitability can be maintained even if the product is priced lower, at around $9 per pound, which broadens its appeal to price-conscious consumers.
