FOOD FOUNDERS Studio has launched as Europe’s first venture studio dedicated to commercializing academic food tech research, securing CHF 1.2 million (US$1.36 million) in seed funding. The Switzerland-based studio aims to bridge the gap between university labs and the food industry by systematically turning scientific breakthroughs into scalable companies. Its first venture focuses on a proprietary technology that tackles the off-flavors of legumes, a major barrier to the mass adoption of plant-based products. The studio’s co-founder and CEO, Giacomo Cattaneo, highlighted that the goal is not just to launch a single company but to prove a new model for food innovation that can bring European research to a global scale.
