European consumers are hesitant to adopt food technology due to a preference for traditional, natural foods and a general distrust of corporations and the science behind the technology, particularly in countries like France and Italy where strong culinary traditions prevail. In contrast, Asian markets show a greater acceptance of technology and place a higher value on food hygiene, which can be enhanced by food tech. These cultural and regulatory differences contribute to Asia’s faster embrace of food innovation compared to Europe.
