Australia’s alternative protein sector will see Food Frontier and Cellular Agriculture Australia (CAA) merge, effective in April. This combines two influential organizations focused on emerging food technologies into a single entity. The new organization will advance alternative proteins, cellular agriculture, and food biomanufacturing across Australia, unifying research, advocacy, and industry engagement efforts. Food Frontier previously operated as a think tank for alternative proteins, while CAA advocated for cellular agriculture. This integration reflects the sector’s maturation and the convergence of various food production methods. The combined entity aims to support plant protein supply chains and accelerate the commercialization and adoption of next-generation food technologies, strengthening Australia’s food system through coordinated policy, investment, and research.
