SuperMeat has secured US$6 million in the initial closing of its Series A-4 financing round, targeting US$10 million to advance its cultivated chicken technology. This funding will support a licensing-led commercialization strategy, with Switzerland identified as the first target market. The company expanded collaborations with Ajinomoto and Micarna, a Migros subsidiary. Existing investors, including Agronomics, contributed to this round. This follows SuperMeat’s progress in production efficiency, including a November 2024 report of a US$11.79 per pound production cost for 100% cultivated chicken at scale. The company is also focusing on manufacturing optimization, bioprocessing partnerships, and sustainability, with a March 2024 analysis indicating 50% lower carbon emissions than conventionally farmed chicken. SuperMeat is preparing for international expansion and regulatory readiness.
