Innovafeed, a French company specializing in insect-based ingredients, has transitioned from research and development to large-scale industrial production. Following a 51 million euro funding round, the firm is shifting its focus toward commercial expansion and operational efficiency. The company’s facility in Nesle is now fully operational, having produced over 15,000 tonnes of protein and oil while significantly reducing production costs. As part of this strategic reorganization, the company is cutting 60 research and development roles to consolidate operations at the Nesle site. These resources are being redirected to support the growth of its ingredient range for the aquaculture and pet food sectors. By scaling its production, Innovafeed aims to meet rising demand for alternative proteins and establish a competitive position in the global market.
