Clever Carnivore, a startup that produces cultivated meat, recently held taste tests in California for its cultivated bratwursts, which are made from a blend of 10% cultivated pork and 90% plant-based ingredients. The company’s head of strategy, Christopher Ix, noted that they served full-size sausages, a departure from the typical bite-sized samples often found in the cultivated meat sector. Attendees, including investors and chefs, responded positively, praising the sausage’s taste and texture. According to the company’s social media, tasters were also impressed by Clever Carnivore’s low production costs and scalable process. Clever Carnivore is currently preparing its regulatory documents and aims to commercialize its bratwursts in 2026.
