US cultivated meat startup Fork & Good has formed a strategic collaboration with animal nutrition company Nutreco and biotech contract manufacturer Extracellular to efficiently scale up the production of its cultivated beef and pork and reduce costs, following its recent acquisition of Orbillion Bio to expand its global reach. This partnership focuses on leveraging their respective strengths in future food R&D, biomanufacturing infrastructure, and cell feed innovation, with initial efforts centered on high-performing media formulations, ingredient innovation, and cost-driver streamlining. Fork & Good, which supplies cost-efficient cultivated red meat ingredients to B2B customers, aims to establish the necessary supply-chain foundation to achieve a commercial cost target of $5 per lb of biomass, eventually reaching parity with commodity pork at $2 per lb, positioning the company for market launch and commercial progress by 2026.
