UK-based biotech firm 3D Bio-Tissues (3DBT) has entered a £300,000 commercial agreement to supply its proprietary cell culture supplement, City-Mix®, to South Korean cultivated meat developer SeaWith. This partnership aims to scale the production of SeaWith’s “Welldone™” cultivated beef by leveraging 3DBT’s technology to increase cell yield and reduce growth media requirements by 30%, significantly lowering manufacturing costs. As SeaWith operates within South Korea’s regulatory-free zone, this collaboration serves as a strategic move toward making sustainable, lab-grown proteins economically viable and commercially available in a region with high consumer interest and proactive government support.
