NFX UK, a network of experts supporting the novel foods sector, has secured $650,000 in funding from Coefficient Giving. Established by Reading Scientific Services Ltd, the organization assists alternative protein startups by providing regulatory science expertise, analytical research, and guidance on market access. The network aims to streamline the approval process for products like cultivated meat and precision fermented proteins by connecting innovators with technical experts and facilitating communication with regulatory bodies such as the Food Standards Agency. This new funding will allow NFX UK to scale its operations within the United Kingdom and expand its model into Europe. The initiative seeks to address systemic challenges that currently make the commercialization of novel foods slow and costly, while helping companies navigate complex data requirements and safety assessments.
