San Diego-based BlueNalu has secured approximately US$11 million in an entirely insider-led funding round, consisting of cash and stock proceeds from existing investors like Agronomics, Siddhi Capital, and Lewis & Clark AgriFood. This bridge financing is designed to propel the company through its next phase of commercial scale-up, regulatory engagement, and manufacturing readiness for its cell-cultivated bluefin tuna toro. By focusing on a “disciplined and differentiated” strategy, BlueNalu aims to debut its premium seafood in high-end sushi and fine-dining establishments, initially in the United States, before expanding to international markets such as Singapore, Japan, and the EU. The capital will also support process optimization and preparation for a next-generation production facility, reinforcing the company’s long-term goal of building a resilient seafood supply chain through strategic partnerships with global food leaders like Griffith Foods and Pulmuone.
